How Queens works
- Place exactly one queen in every row and one in every column.
- Each coloured region holds exactly one queen.
- Queens may not touch each other, not even diagonally.
Tap a cell once to cross it out, tap again for a queen, and a third time to clear it. Drag across cells to cross out several at once. Stuck? Hint shows the next logical step and explains it. It never just hands you the answer.
A new Queens puzzle appears here every day at midnight your time. They start easy on Monday and build to an expert grid on Sunday. Want more? Unlimited Queens gives you as many as you like at four difficulty levels.
Questions
- Is this the same Queens game as on LinkedIn?
- It uses the same classic rules, which come from a puzzle family called Star Battle. Every puzzle here is our own and generated by our own software, so you can play as many as you like, not just one a day.
- Does every puzzle have one solution?
- Yes. Every grid is checked by a solver to have exactly one solution, reachable by logic alone. You never need to guess.
- Do I need an account?
- No. Your streak, times and progress are saved in your browser on this device.
- How do I get better?
- Read the beginner's guide, then the solving techniques. The same five or six ideas solve almost every grid.
